Characteristics of amino acid applied on plant roots

1. Stimulate the roots growth

Amino acids can promote root growth.On the one hand,they regulate the forming of roots morphogenesis on plants,Serine and indole can synthesize tryptophan,which is a synthetic precursor for plant growth, It can promote the synthesis of auxin in root system, ,thus promote root growth. On the other hand, amino acid is also the necessary material basis for the formation of root morphology. Amino acids are the basic building block of biological functional macromolecular proteins. And enzymes involved in root morphogenesis are made of proteins.The formation of root cell wall ,cell membrane,Cell fluid as well as each various organelles need proteins. Therefore , root application is conducive to the formation of root morphology, laying a foundation for crop growth.

2. Improve utility rate of nutrients

Amino acid can increase the availability of soil salt and improve the utilization rate of nutrients. Amino acid can activate urease activity, accelerate the rate of organic nitrogen to inorganic nitrogen, and increase the content of available nitrogen in soil.Amino acids are rich in acid functional group carboxyl ,in which hydrogen ion can be easily squeezed out by ammonium ions and potassium ion in the soil, thus by this way, amino acid seized nitrogen and potassium in the soil , and reduced nitrogen volatilization and potassium leaching, improved nutrients utilization. Amino acids can also activate soil phosphatase activity, promote the decomposition of organic phosphorus compounds in soil into inorganic phosphorus for plants to absorb, and activate phosphorus fixed by soil. Glycine,Proline,Histidine ,and Methionine are natural mineral chelating agents. They can chelate middle and trace elements in soil, improve nutrient availability

3. Promote microbial activities in soil

Soil microorganism is an important component of soil, it plays an important influence on the transformation of organic-inorganic substance in soil, the circulation of nutrient elements and the formation of enzymes . The stimulation of amino acids increases the number and activity of a large number of microbial communities in the soil, such as aerobic bacteria, actinomycetes, cellulose decomposing bacteria, and accelerates the decomposition of organic matter in the soil, providing necessary nutrients for crop growth

4. Improve the physical and chemical properties and structure of soil

Soil aggregate is the basic unit of soil structure. As the adhesive between soil particles, amino acids can promote the formation of soil aggregates, improve soil structure, and provide soil water and fertilizer conservation capacity. So as to create good conditions for the growth and development of plant roots. The nutrient application time of root is long, but the fertilizer effect is slower than that of foliar spraying.
