I recently had an NRCS agent swing by interested in looking at a drone I had for sale. Seems his office was interested in purchasing one in order to spot-check clients to ensure they were following NRCS guidelines. I was interested in speaking to him as the manager of the NRCS high tunnel program. Why someone with an environmental degree would manage a crop production system is beyond me, but I reckon the same mentality is driving these proposed changes...

This is a real disappointment and concern. Consider all the progress that has been made to reduce erosion, improve soil health, and sequester carbon through cover crops. This is the one area livestock producers can shine and this change would have a drastic negative effect on cover crop usage.
