Wonder why it's been so grey and rainy lately in Manitoba? It's because a large upper-level low has stalled out over northern Ontario, bringing frequent chances for rain to southern Manitoba. The satellite image we drew up (below) shows the centre of the low marked with a "L" and a bunch of upper-level disturbances marked with "X"s. Each time one of those disturbances moves through it brings more rain. With all those disturbances rotating around the low, the system looks like a huge ball-bearing!
