Black oats, which are also known as bristle oats, lopsided oats, sand oats, and small oats, can be an excellent choice for cover crops. This species is easy to plant and easy to terminate while still providing tremendous ground cover and producing loads of biomass. Even beginning cover croppers can see incredible results with black oats cover crops.
