Regarding the irrigation of onions, here are a few tips to keep in mind.

#1: In general, onions need about one inch of water a week.

#2: The soil should be moist but not soggy. Watering too little can lead to smaller bulbs and decreased yields. But, watering too much can lead to other problems. So, finding the right balance is key.

#3: To keep the roots healthy, onions should be watered slowly.

#4: Because weeds will rob onions of water, weed management is a must.
