Farm Equipment Appraisals: More Than Color and Age

    By Mary Herring

    Published Feb 9, 2021

The skill of an independent appraiser is to formulate an unbiased value based upon a thorough understanding of the farm equipment market, while using real data from multiple data sources — “guesstimating” it is not. There’s more to farm equipment appraising than meets the eye. We talked to several experienced appraisers to get their take on the current market for used agricultural equipment in this unusual environment. Brian McGahey of Ringling, Oklahoma, has been an independent appraiser for the past 18 years and said he uses several data sets when figuring farm equipment valuations... com/tractor-blue-book/farm-equipment-appraisals/?utm_source=AgFuse&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=Appraisal_Article_agfuse...

AGRONOMICS is an Out-of-the-Box Solution to the Growing Demand for Viable Food Production!

    By Joseph Griffith

    Published May 3, 2021

Traditional agriculture and farming techniques have not been able to keep up with the growing consumer demand for healthy food nationally and globally. Driven by:Population growth and urbanization decreasing available arable land dedicated to agriculture Rising supply chain and energy costs Growing environmental concern about the use of pesticides for crop productionInsufficient water availability for crop production Limited growing seasons based on the traditional agriculture one-cycle production process Harsh and severe weather Political turmoil affecting agricultural trade Market fluctuations in agriculture prices and costs Market shocks from COVID 19 National and global demand for food, specifically healthy sustainably produced food will outpace supply. Short of innovation and technological advances to offset demand, the impact of increasing demand for healthy food places significant pressure on the Agricultural Industry to find viable solutions... agriculture has the responsibility to meet the growing demand by using natural resources more efficiently by thinking out-of-the-box... Out-of-the-box thinking about how to resolve this problem led to the development of AGRONOMICS: The Integration of Solar Micro-Grid Smart Technology with Indoor Vertical Farming, Proximate Produce Processing, and Cold Storage Warehousing...

Emmy Award Winner 'American Grown: My Job Depends on Ag' with Erik Wilson

    By North American Ag

    Published Jun 21

The co-founder of the Emmy Award Winning show 'American Grown: My Job Depends on Ag' Erik Wilson, takes some time off the job today to talk with Chrissy Wozniak about the show, their hugely successful Facebook Page, and farming in California. Their vision, through a true grassroots effort, is to show how many people’s lives are related, connected and, most importantly, dependent on agriculture. The goal is to illustrate just how massive the fraternity of Ag really is, as well as educate and inform the public with articles, stories, images and more, directly from the farmers, ranchers and other agricultural support businesses, whose daily lives – and livelihoods – are affected every day by agriculture in this country. My Job Depends on Ag started with a Facebook group in May of 2016, which in the matter of just a few weeks grew to over 20,000 members, now having over 102,000 members! They began by sharing stories about how their own jobs depend on ag. By putting a face with entire agriculture industry chain, they hoped the impact of agriculture would be recognized by not just political leaders, but consumers as well...

Pine Forest, so the soil is probably acidic. Located in North-East corner of Ohio. We are going to grind out the stumps, disc the soil, broadcast the seed and harrow it to finish.

A new episode of IL CORN TV is out!
Click on the link below to check out this week's edition of IL Corn TV. More than 50 countries were represented in the United States during the U.S. Grains Council's marquee event, Export Exchange. Several delegations of foreign officials visited Illinois farms and export facilities to learn more about corn and corn co-products grown and produced in Illinois. Plus, jump in a combine with Northwest farmer Bill Leigh and listen in on the crop commentary. Meanwhile, IL Corn is focused on helping farmer use conservation practices to improve soil health, reduce erosion, sequester carbon, and build a sustainable future. Lastly, a message from Assistant Fire Chief Pat Spears for farmers during Fire Prevention month. Be safe out there, farmers!
