How international money wants to invest in American Farms.

MERCOSUR, or “ The Common Market of the Southern Cone” was established in March of 1990 by the Treaty of Asuncion and was implemented to create a Common Agricultural trade export import market by its now four signatories ( Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia) Venezuela is no longer part of the BLOC and Bolivia has a rather divided influence in MERCOSUR’S role. It has succeeded its predecessor, LAFTA ( Latin American Free Trade Association) in both economic integration as well as unlimited agricultural capital funding and has evolved into a powerful international influence in trade, agriculture, finance, exports, imports, and tariffs with many allies of which desire and inherently depend on its scalability including the United Arab Emirates, The European Union and more recently The United States of America. Brazil and Argentina are the largest Member countries, in territory and population in South America and each have large as well as highly developed consumer markets. Argentina is rich in Natural Resources and has a robust Export Oriented Agricultural Sector... Its principal Agricultural products include Coffee, Soybeans, Wheat, Rice, Corn, Sugarcanes, Cocoa, Citrus, and Beef...

I have for the last three years been promoting a product that was developed by Mr. Bill Coats, the father of Aloe Vera products. It took over 50 years to make this happen. In these past three years, I have learned that despite the facts and test, most agricultural companies are not willing to try a product that is 100% organic... In Indonesia we are in some cases doubling rice yields, we are the only product to help with VSD and BPR in cocoa trees...

Cocoa Cultivation under Diverse Shade Tree Cover Allows High Carbon Storage and Sequestration without Yield Losses

Authors: Yasmin Abou Rajab, Christoph Leuschner, Henry Barus, Aiyen Tjoa, Dietrich Hertel

    Publisher: PLOS One

One of the main drivers of tropical forest loss is their conversion to oil palm, soy or cacao plantations with low biodiversity and greatly reduced carbon storage. Southeast Asian cacao plantations are often established under shade tree cover, but are later converted to non-shaded monocultures to avoid resource competition. We compared three co-occurring cacao cultivation systems (3 replicate stands each) with different shade intensity (non-shaded monoculture, cacao with the legume Gliricidia sepium shade trees, and cacao with several shade tree species) in Sulawesi (Indonesia) with respect to above- and belowground biomass and productivity, and cacao bean yield. Total biomass C stocks (above- and belowground) increased fivefold from the monoculture to the multi-shade tree system (from 11 to 57 Mg ha-1), total net primary production rose twofold (from 9 to 18 Mg C ha-1 yr-1). This increase was associated with a 6fold increase in aboveground biomass, but only a 3.5fold increase in root biomass, indicating a clear shift in C allocation to aboveground tree organs with increasing shade for both cacao and shade trees. Despite a canopy cover increase from 50 to 93%, cacao bean yield remained invariant across the systems (variation: 1.1–1.2 Mg C ha-1 yr-1). The monocultures had a twice as rapid leaf turnover suggesting that shading reduces the exposure of cacao to atmospheric drought, probably resulting in greater leaf longevity. Thus, contrary to general belief, cacao bean yield does not necessarily decrease under shading which seems to reduce physical stress. If planned properly, cacao plantations under a shade tree cover allow combining high yield with benefits for carbon sequestration and storage, production system stability under stress, and higher levels of animal and plant diversity.

Cocoa production in Africa is set to take a turn for the better as AfDB begin plans to support producers

Among other planned interventions, the Bank is considering support to Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire to reduce the volatility of the international prices of cocoa. Côte d’Ivoire leads the world in the production and export of cocoa.

Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire are now at the final stages of discussions for AfDB support. A final deal is expected to be announced in the days to come.

But following high-level meetings between the governments of both countries and the AfDB President, some key agreements have already been made.

The Bank has agreed to assist the countries to establish a Cocoa Market Stabilization Fund and a Cocoa Exchange Commission for the management of production.
