    By Gregory Heilers

    Published Jun 4, 2018

Traditional agricultural skills that made civilization possible are still alive and in use today. At the same time, hundreds of farm technician job listings across the US, and the rise of precision agriculture and software, clearly evidence the need for technologically-savvy farm technicians in the 21st century agricultural industry. It’s no surprise that tech-friendly millennials interested in farming are encouraged by these developments, which may make farming less labor intensive than in generations past. Technology may even be the antidote to a number of ills plaguing modern agriculture, which have led to a drastic decrease in the number of farms across the United States... Without technicians capable of running and maintaining these new tools, farms cannot tap into such precision herbicide application...

From export, import, credit, financing, trade, as well as political turmoil or price fluctuations in commodity prices, gold, silver, currency exchanges, interest rates, and bond prices to name a few. A new international encrypted digital crypto-currency is being developed right now by Agrilend, LLC founders to be used exclusively for farmers and will position an initial coin offering in the not so distant future. Farmers who need cash are not usually technologically savvy and are used to the old fashioned ways of having the bank lend, they are now seeking investment but also wanting to remain anonymous, the same as many private investors are seeking anonymity. This Week in Agriculture:A Mixed Bag of Information from the Week that Was: February 1st, 2019· The reopening of the government and Chinese trade conversations dominated headlines this week. With the former playing catch up and the latter loaded with fodder for both buyers and sellers. · A short-term resolution to the government shutdown was announced late last Friday as lawmakers put aside their differences, funding the government through the 15th of February. The funding allowed offices closed for well over a month to reopen, this included the USDA, CFTC and others, also allowing for those employees working without pay throughout the shutdown to receive those delayed paychecks... · While news from the talks was relatively quiet Wednesday, rumors, confirmation and revisions dominated the news cycle after the close on Thursday...
