cover cropping with triticale ,hairy vetch and cow peas late fall?

    By Brady Shortell

    Published Oct 18, 2020

Looking at planting triticale with hairy vetch and cow peas for a cover crop next year for a cash crop or corn to be planted late May 2021 using a roller crimper to terminate the cover crop before plant. It’s October 18th, I won’t be able to plant until the 22nd. Night time temps have fluctuated from mid 30s to high 20s no consistency yet. Some nights stay closer to 40. Highs are in the 70s and 80s. Am I too late for any of my covers? Any suggestions on planting rates? Will triticale terminate properly if I follow the method used for Rye, waiting until the entire field is dropping pollen?

"After timber harvest or a forest fire, reforestation is essential for a productive working landscape and healthy ecosystem. When replanting you need to decide where you will get tree seeds or seedlings. To help you and other forest land managers, reforestation scientists at the USDA Forest Service Pacific Northwest Research Station, Oregon State University, and the Conservation Biology Institute developed a web-based mapping application, the Seedlot Selection Tool."

Cashew Nut From Vietnam -- The origin of cashew is based on evidence that strongly indicates Brazil, or at least tropical South America, as the center of origination of the species currently known as Anacardium occidentale. The warm and moist climate conditions found especially in the coastal regions of Northeast Brazil, with air humidity about 70 %, are ideal for cashew growing. The name cashew is in fact derived from the indigenous dialect word "acaju"
Nowadays Vietnam Cashew Industry is currently referred to as the "undisputed King of Cashew nuts for exports," outdoing many Southeast Asian countries, and emerging as the leading producer and exporter of cashew nuts for the last 17 years. One of the most abundant cashew nuts producing area is in the Southern region of Binh Phuoc. In this area, the farmers plant cashew nut trees that are of South American origin.

Not Many Countries Can Grow Cashew
The cashew tree is very sensitive to climate. They are genuinely tropical, countries grow cashew trees like Vi t Nam, n , B Bi n Ng , Benin, Guinea-Bisseau, Cape Verde, Tanzania, Mozambique, Indonesia v Brazil... Because Not many countries have a climate suitable for growing cashew that is the reason to makes cashews rare and highly valuable to consumers.

"Some of the peanuts planted in April are starting to show their first blooms. In addition to signaling the start of the development of eventual peanut seed, bloom is also a reminder of when to apply calcium to the developing peanut crop. Large seeded runners (examples being TUFRunner 511, TUFRunner 297, and even 06G, FL-07 and 09B) and all runners grown for seed should receive 1000 to 1500 lb land plaster per acre. All Virginia types typically respond well to 1500 to 2000 lb land plaster per acre. See page 15 and 19 in the Peanut Production Guide for additional details. Foliar calcium applications are not recommended."

"It’s too early to say exactly how our increasingly summer-like conditions will affect diseases in 2017, but it is best to anticipate increased problems with tomato spotted wilt, Aspergillus crown rot, nematodes and white mold this season. All of the diseases mentioned above, and I include nematodes though they are not truly a disease, have one more thing in common. It is the most important thing: There are management opportunities that are lost once the seed is buried."
